Life before Rystad Energy

I have a M.Sc. in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from NTNU – the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. My technological specialization was in Energy and Environmental Engineering and Electrical Power, while my master’s degree was in Managerial Economics and Operations Research. Before I started at Rystad Energy, I spent a summer here as a summer intern in 2019, and before that I was an intern in Hydro in the Primary Metal Finance team.

Why did you choose Rystad Energy?

I think I chose to work at Rystad Energy due to my background in Energy and Environmental Engineering at NTNU. I wanted to work in a business where I could work with the current and future global energy markets, and to a part of a company that has a position in the energy space. This also implies working with the energy transition and renewable energy, which is something I find very interesting. The fact that Rystad Energy are specialists within a specific field also appealed to me, compared to general consultancy.

What makes Rystad Energy stand out for you as an employer?

What makes Rystad Energy stand out as an employer to me is the variation in tasks and workstreams, exciting projects within the energy space and the young and social environment. An advantage of working as a consultant in Rystad Energy is that the projects are conducted in the Rystad Energy offices, which contributes to a very good working environment.

What has your career journey at Rystad Energy looked like?

I started as a consultant in Rystad Energy two years ago, and during that time I’ve been on more than twenty different projects with variating lengths. This means that you are exposed to a large span of topics and challenges that need to be solved within these topics. I have been able to build a unique base of knowledge and experiences in order to further specialize in the topics that I find the most interesting. In my case, this has been within the energy transition space, and lately an overweight of renewable energy, especially offshore wind.

What are your passions outside of work?

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also have a love for travels and hiking, and a combination of the two is the absolute optimal.
