Perry Wilson

Principal

Perry Wilson joined Rystad in 2023. He leads the firm’s Australian consulting business and is based in Sydney, Australia. Perry has worked across the globe and has deep project experience in the industrial and mining sectors, as well as transportation and clean technology.

He is passionate about supporting clients with their energy transition, connecting aspirational goals with actionable recommendations. His client portfolio covers energy majors, miners, industrials, banks and governments. He has good knowledge of the Australian energy value chain with a specialty in clean technology, mining & metals and CCUS.

Perry has previously served on the Board of the Australian Alliance for Energy Productivity (A2EP) and is a regular speaker at a range of Australian-based energy and climate events. Outside of work, he also serves as chair of a youth mental health charity, dedicated to changing the lives of young men. He also enjoys participating in a range of sports from rugby union to triathlon.

Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Perry led the Energy, Climate & Sustainability Engineering team at an Australian engineering consultancy, assisting clients with their decarbonisation strategies and technology assessments. He also served as a strategy and commercial advisor to a clean technology player, owned by Brookfield and Pacific Equity Partners. His early career, and foundation of his international consulting experience in Europe and Africa, was 5 years with Deloitte.

He holds an M.Eng in civil engineering from The University of Manchester and experience in Psychology & Sociology at Cornell University. He is also published in the Marine Policy Journal through his collaboration with The Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, leveraging the circular economy to improve material efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, evidenced with a life-cycle assessment model.
